Marriage to Martha

John Tijou was the eldest son of Michael Tijou and Elizabeth. He was baptised 22 April 1733 at St Clement Danes (still in existence on the Strand in London) and married Martha (maiden name unknown) in 1757. They had ten children: Mary Ann, John, Esther, John, Michael, Thomas, Martha, Ann, Martha and Margaretta. The family seemed to have lived in the London Borough of Southwark (just south of the River Thames). [1]

Mary Ann (1756 - ?) was born 30 July 1756 abd baptised 08 August the same year at St James Church, Piccadilly, Westminster, London.

John (c1758 - ?) was baptised 14 August 1758 at St Andrew's Church, Holburn, London.

John (1762 - ?) was born 12 December 1762 and batpised 31 of the same month at St George the Martyr's Church, Southwark.

Michael (1764 - ?) was born 02 December 1764 and baptised 26 December the same year at St George the Martyr Church, Southwark.

Thomas Coates (1766 - ?) was born 19 July 1766 and baptised 24 August the same year at St George the Martyr Church, Southwark.

Martha (1768 - ?) was born 25 March 1768 and baptised 27 April the same year at St George the Martyr Church, Southwark.

Ann (1770 - ?) was born 02 January 1770 and baptised 07 February the same year at St George the Martyr Church, Southwark.

Martha (1773 - ?) was born 17 November 1773 and baptised 22 December the same years at St George the Martyr Church, Southwark.

Margaretta Maria (1776 - ?) was born 25 March 1776 and baptised 21 April he same years at St George the Martyr Church, Southwark.
