 Part 3: George Richard Renfrew (1831 - 1897)

Marriage to Eliza Jane Tweddell

George Richard Renfrew (1831 - 1897) was the son of Thomas Renfrew and Mary Ann Jane Henderson. He was brought up by relatives and became a furrier, later becoming part of the famous company Holt/Renfrew.  He married Eliza Jane Tweddell (c1836 - 1898) and they had ten children, though four died in infancy: George Henderson, Mary Matilda 'Maud', Louisa Caroline, Laura Isabella, John Henry, Allan Edmund, Alice Maud, Walter Charles, Kenneth Elliot, and Gordon Campbell. George died in Baildon, Yorkshire, England in 1897 and was buried in Mount Hermon Cemetery. Eliza Jane died after contracting pneumonia on Christmas Day 1898 in Toronto.
